WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Stability management protects asset value by reducing the potential for major or catastrophic risks associated with a loss of vessel stability. The stability of floating vessels is an important consideration to evaluate their application in the marine and offshore development. As oil and gas exploration and development activity moves further and further offshore, physical vessel size and enhanced capabilities are needed to keep pace with the more demanding operating conditions typical to this operating environment. This course will present the concepts of stability, methods of evaluation and the application to general marine, and in particular, offshore upstream oil and gas.
This course will address both intact and damage stability with special focus on applicability to offshore operations. The program will also give an overview of stability regulations and certifying agencies, as well as typical software used to evaluate stability. This a generic course well-tailored for oilfield, Shipping and exploration & production facilities.
